Back home

The first day back is always a great feeling when I wake up. Even if I woke up a few times in the night. I ran off the plane to see my dad and mom and really couldn't wait to come home. In my childhood home, with my fantastic parents. After having to check my carry-on bag in Frankfurt, it was probably the most stressful I have ever been. I ran back up the jetway remembering I forgot my computer inside my just checked bag at the gate. I noticed the flight attendants were all busy still checking people into the plane. I saw a man wearing a yellow flight crew vest heading my way and asked him half in Italian, half in English that I need to get my computer out of my bag that was just checked. He was telling me to calm down and said,  I will see what I can do. He told me to wait right in front of the jetway and he went down an elevator to see if my bag still was reachable, but if it was already on the plane he wouldn't be able to get it for me. I waited a patient 10 minutes by the elevator which a security guard offered me kindly a chair to sit on.

Then the doors opened he had my computer case in hand. He was so nice and I thanked him kindly and asked him his name. He said, "I'm Richard, I'm the captain and your name?" "Katie, oh my goodness, thank you so, so much Richard!"

As the flight was not too bad (forgetting that I was sitting in front of a typical selfish American woman who was incredibly rude to the flight staff the whole flight), I was so grateful that I am still attracting kind people like Richard.

It is so GREAT to be home!!

a presto amici!!
