I Feel It!

As most of my friends know, I love to sing.  In high school, I was obsessed with musicals.  I've always wondered what it would be like if there was music constantly playing around me.  And then me, breaking out into song on the streets of Florence.  This song is from one of my favorite musicals.  I never got to be on stage singing these gorgeous and uplifting songs, however if I were to start singing now, this is the song I would sing to you all.

Something's coming, West Side Story (1961)

Do you feel what I'm feeling?  What is coming to you in 2010?

a presto amici!

Ciao Katie, I recently came across your blog and perused the archives a bit... che nostalgia! I too share a love affair with Italy, Florence in particular, having lived there on and off over the past few years. Although I am back in the states now, I know that I won't be gone long...

As to this post-- I feel exactly the same way, that something big is just around the corner in 2010. Isn't it exciting? I would add another song to stand beside this one- "Just Around the Riverbend" from Disney's Pocahontas. Slightly different message, but still about there being something out there, something greater, more dreams to dream and to live. And though the winding path may be more arduous, navigating it will encourage more growth in us.

I remember riding bikes in Florence with my old roommate and belting this song out on a November night in 2006, as a reminder that the universe has so much more in store for us, and that we mustn't settle for anything less.

Here's to 2010 and the new doors that will be opened before us!

Ciao Phee!  Thanks for commenting! I love the idea of "just around the riverbend", I just watched that movie with my niece the other day.  Thanks!  Here to 2010!
