Sweet, Cold, Culture Shock Chicago
I have been home a week now in the suburbs of Chicago, where the snow is falling as I write this from my warm bedroom, thanks to a large heater my Dad gave me. Things have been great, grand and wonderful. Seeing my family, visiting with my Nana, playing with Addy and her zoo animals. I have also had some strange, yet unpleasant culture shock. I understand much of the reason for this unpleasantness is from the crisis the world is enduring now. Many of the locals in my town, seem incredibly stressed with life's stressors, which I completely understand. The friends I have seen have been excited to see me and I even taught a few songs during a Saturday BODYFLOW class with my dear friend Therese. I was so nervous teaching in front of over 30 people as opposed to my 2 or 3 regulars at GYMNASIUM in Florence. My words were all over the place. I was as nervous as I was the first time I taught on my own(and I only taught 2 songs). :/
But the members were excited to see me. I received some hugs, people saying how proud they are of me, following my dream. Teaching BODYFLOW/BODYBALANCE has really opened my eyes and heart to teaching in general. Perhaps that is why I love it so much! At the end of the class, people were ever so grateful that I was apart of the class that day. It made me smile from ear to ear.
The most important thing I have come to realize(every time I come home) is how important family is. I came home to seeing my Addy Monkeypants swimming:

I am looking forward to making pasta from scratch with my Nana and also seeing all my relatives over the Christmas holidays.
