Living within my means

I have been really learning how to live within my means these months.  I have been shopping every 3 weeks for groceries.  Shopping for clothes or boots or shoes has become a forbidden thing for me.  Unless it is bitterly cold as it is now and I have bought the cheapest sweaters I can find.

Everyone keeps telling me how hard it is to live in Italy.  I know it is hard.  But what I don't want to become is the person that is constantly worried about having money.  There is a shift that I must take in order to follow this goal.  I know that it can be done.  I will work to make myself take the right steps in the right direction.  I am in this transitional period that I know is going to turn into the most fabulous period in my life.  As one friend told me, you just got to get the ball rolling and then it will be just fine.  I am struggling.  As I remember telling my parents a year ago, "I need to struggle, so I can learn how to pick myself back up."

It has been hard this month.  (I hate the word, hard)

Thankfully I have friends here who are supportive and know what I am going through.  I have some great opportunities that have been sprouting up.  I hope one of those things become a real steady job.

Any luck can be sent my way, ti prego!

a presto!

Switch the word hard to challenge. Life this month has been a challenge. Challenges are things to overcome or conquer. Hard is just hard.

    Katie,
I'm so proud of you for following your dreams. I just taught my Italy Retreat in Cinque Terre and then studied Italian in Verona. I'm so happy that I was able to stay in Italy for a month. Even though it may be challenging for you right now, you get to be in Italy permanently if you want!
Stay focused on your dream, and write your desires weekly. Great things will come your way and it's a huge transition to live in another country..
    You go girl!

In my experience, living within one's means is not always an easy thing. But anything hard makes us stronger, so just keep on doing what you're doing and I'm sure everything will turn out for the best! Best of luck to you!
