More Apartment and Neighborhood Pictures

Today I finally woke up a bit later than 6am, 9:30am.  Much easier.  My clock seems to be set now.  Last night I went out with a dear friend, Simone.  He and I have been through a lot and finally I am here for good, so our friendship thus will become stronger.  We rode his motorino all over Firenze stopping for drinks along the way.  We talked all the way.  On the loud motorino, on the street, in the pubs.  There was so much to say.  Much more gossip than I have.  Before we knew it, it was almost 2 am.  Time for bed.  Which was what I did, fell right into my bed and slept.  Slept.  The.  WHOLE.  Night.  Not ONE zanzara found my body.  Because vape extinguished them ALL!!! HAHAHA!!

This morning I awoke to find a line of DEAD tiger mosquitos right in the opening of my window.  I couldn't help but laugh and then properly sweep them up and wash my floor.  In my own apartment in Florence!   I don't get tired of saying it

I took a nice stroll this afternoon in the heat, but I didn't care.  I captured my neighborhood with my camera.

Via Guasti, the bridge is the other train station in Florence, Firenze Statuto.

I love the brick work in my neighborhood, il Romito

This is in Piazza Vieusseux.  Most of the piazze in il Romito are very small and quaint.  Love it!

Via Raffaello Lambruschini, MY STREET!!

Feels like I am in the medievial times around here or a Romeo and Juliet type movie. hehe!

Looking into my room from the terrazza.  The fan was my first purchase here.

Yes that is a peach tree.  Marco say the tree is sick, so he can try the peaches first I said. hehe!  It is like a jungle
down there.  That is why mosquitoes are around constantly as well.

I think I found my new blog foto.  When you step outside onto the terrazza to the left this bunch of grapes
were staring at me.  I really love this place.  It all seemed to work out how I wanted it.

Detours were there, setbacks for sure got under my skin, roadblocks, brick walls...but I pressed on.
Like the late Randy Pausch said:

"Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how badly we want things."

It is so true.  When passion for a place, an idea, a job or anything really take hold and makes your heart flutter and permanently painting a smile on your face, these are the things we shouldn't give up on.  Let it be from the constant negativity from the outside world, the people who tell you, 'you can't do it'...How do they know?

My advice to all my fellow passion-seekers and dream makers, listen to you and only you and you will prevail to the highest point where you shall enjoy the view, while others who told you 'no' no longer can be heard.

Thanks to my friends at the Looking Glass Lane for the shout out.  Love to inspire and bring more positivity your way! Grazie mille!!

a presto amici miei!!

Hi Katie, I've been following your blog for the past few months and I am so happy that you finally made it to come back to Florence again. Looking at your pictures I couldn't believe that I was walking down those very streets just a couple of nights ago while tasting one of the most fabulous gelato in the world at the "Gelateria de' Medici"... it should be within walking distance from your home, in Via dello Statuto 3. I also appreciated that you quoted Prof. Pausch: I admire him not only as a computer scientist but also for his commitment in achieving dreams, just like I admire you for the same reason. Enjoy your time in Florence!
