Florence next month
I have had basically all my dreams come true. My citizenship came in record time. 2 and a half months. My passport is on it's way. My departure is next month. Sooner than I thought. The Universe has manifested these desires I have wanted for so long. Italian citizenship took too long, wasted 2 years of my life thinking something was manifesting when nothing was happening.
I have been grateful for many of my grand blogger friends who have become fast friends since I arrived back and had a hard time with life here. I want to put the spotlight on them today, just a bit, in light of my fabulous news.
Lulu from Calabrisella Mia has had such an influence on me. My love for all things 'Calabrese' has grown from her. She has such a fantastic story and a heart of gold. I appreciate all your words of wisdom and your PR skills in helping me with my bio for Nile Guide. I can't wait to spend time with you in Calabria and of course Florence.
A friend named Paula who has yet to start by chatting in English with me. I love that we can speak in Italian. Being that I need the practice anyways. She has a marvelous blog at bell'alimento. Tempting me with her mojitos and pane. Thanks for your spirit and assistance in understanding how mothers are.
Anait from Cap Ou Pas Cap is a Chicagoan also, what a small world. She and I have yet to meet or talk much through email but I find her posts on Amore, riveting. She has a way with words that gave me the inspiration to write my recent Love Thursday post. I hope we can meet when she returns from Spain and France.
Laura, my brand new friend, from Ciao Amalfi, is another one that I became close with immediately. I am glad we are both MAC girls. Thank for the post you wrote on me as well. Your kind words and honest questions have really made a difference. I appreciate you in my life. Thanks again!
I want embrace my new blogging friends and hope we can continue to grow into our own passions with each other by our sides.
So back to my news. I have booked my ticket for Firenze: Episode 7. June 22nd!! It is a week later than I wanted to leave but because I don't know when exactly my UK passport is arriving I thought I'd give myself an extra week. (it should take 6 weeks)
I have an apartment, as many of you have emailed me asking what it is like. I am paying next to nothing for a great room with a great friend, Marco. He found this place and also has found me a job working as an English teacher. Yes, in fact, this is an amazing friend! I am also writing for a travel website which I will be discussing more when I arrive.
Seriously folks, everything has been falling into place. And what did I say back in December, May is the month things will manifest. And so many things have. I was sworn in by the Vice Consul of the UK consulate on May 6th. I was offered an apartment for a great price. I was told I have a contract for Teaching English starting in September. I was informed that the travel website will be giving me as much work as possible over the summer while I wait for my day job to start. I couldn't have asked for things to go any better. Well it looks like all my dreams are coming true, Again! Thanks to HOPE, PERSEVERANCE, STRENGTH, WILLINGNESS to never GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS!!! You can't wait for things to happen, you must visualize and see what the Universe comes up with.

Florence 2007, where I was on top of the world!

Wow! Your story is amazing and I am super duper happy that your dreams are coming true and I am sure you will have a fabulous time with your new life and journey! Looking forward to this travel blog you will write for as well!
I just got married here in Italy and I certainly understand the madness of how things are never clear, officials contradict each other - just about any process is crazy complicated for seemingly no reason. It can definitely be frustrating!
Thanks for sharing your story - I am hopping through blogs and looking to get to the know the community here in Italy - I'm about 40 minutes away from Firenze as well!

Ciao Katie! You are so very sweet! I can't thank you enough for your kind words, all of your support and your constant cheerfulness since we met. I look forward to our chats once you get over on this side... and hopefully meeting soon in Florence or Amalfi. Wouldn't that be grand? You deserve all these great things... you have worked hard! Start counting down those days... June 22nd will be here before you know it! A presto bella amica!

I so envy your life right now! Your story is so inspirational. I hope I have the same courage, tenacity, perseverance like you do. Everyday, I dream of quitting my job in healthcare and pursue my passion of writing, travelling, and photography. But alas, I have a daughter and husband as well as a mortgage (mortgage payments being a liability, literally!). I did reach my goal of the year to get something published, though, so I think that's a pat in the back for me!
Thanks for sharing your adventure. I'm looking forward for more. I am an Italo-phile (is there such a word?)--we even named our daughter GIADA!

Very inspiring post. Isn't it great when things just fall into place? I'm still not completely there yet myself, but working on it everyday. I totally agree that you can't wait for things to happen. Instead we have to make them happen. I hope you'll have a great time in Firenze!
