Blast from the Past

I did some spring cleaning yesterday and was surprised at what I found.  One side of my closet contained all my old T-shirts.  From soccer, from my years of Choir and Madrigals in High School, all the musicals I was in, etc.  I then came upon some of my most favorite T-shirts.  Ones I would wear ALL THE TIME.  For a particular reason, of course, they had a message.  Messages that I still believe to this day.  So I am sure these shirts had something to do with how my brain was growing during my pre-teen years.

Be as you are, there is no way better!  I loved this shirt  because it was blue, well blue-purple.

I received this sweatshirt during a time where I was teased a lot for being different and ya know all those mean Jr. High years.  My Mom got this in California on a trip with my Dad.  I remember feeling strong in this sweatshirt even with the teddy bears on it.  Yet again the message is profound and was essential in my growing years.  I was always an original and never wanted to follow the norm.  Still I walk to my own tune.

Ok does anyone get Notes from the Universe in their inbox?  You know who you are.  See that TUT at the bottom?  WOW right?  Do what you love and the world will come to you!  I always knew it was going to work out how I wanted it.  I remember wearing this shirt and reading it before I put it on and then when I looked in the mirror.  Telling myself, "Katie anything you want to do you can do!"  This was before I considered my family reactions on what I wanted to do.  So there you go!  The Universe was always behind me from a young age.

Have you been doing spring cleaning?  Have you found anything profound that brings you back to your youth?

a presto!

I always find my old journal entries when I do spring cleaning.

Re-reading things I wrote when I was in grade school, high school and even just a few years ago in college, I'm always struck by how much I've changed and how many of the dreams I wrote about have come true. It's a reminder to keep dreaming and growing

and yes, I get "notes from the universe" too
