The Call
I received a call from Anna Vigella from the Italian Consulate of Chicago this afternoon. She received the certified letter I sent to her about the status of my citizenship. As much as I don't want to say it, she told me that my application is not even close to being finished. I almost reached through the phone and strangled her.
WHAT?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!
I handed everything in that was asked of me in January 2007. EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING, WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT???? BLOOD!!!!!! I can prove I am a IORI thru my DNA!!!!!!!
Breathe, Katie, Breathe.
She is sending me a letter with all the information I am missing(which is obsurd) and set me up for an appointment on March 4 2009, at 10am, to hand in all the paperwork once again. BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Obviously I must stay in the country until that date, which was my plan anyways. I am so annoyed with this process. I have been waiting FOREVER, and I know, I know, many other people have been waiting longer than me for sure. BUT Damn!!!!
I have no words left for the Italian Consulates........except many curse words which I will refrain from typing.

Yikes! I sympathize. Italian bureaucracy is no fun at all.
