Notte Bianca e San Giovanni
I have had a few nights of exceptional fun while not being the avid night-lifer like previous months before. On Saturday Nottarno or La Notte Bianca took place in the Oltrarno. Laura and I decided to partake in the festivities being that this would be our second meeting in our city. Funny thing is that she lives just a few stops away from Grassina in Piazza Gavinana. In my night on the town get up, I made the bus ride to her abode. We had her uncle to drive us to where the action was taking place. First we stopped at a pub they frequent, Friends. After 1 and half beers(yes I'm a lightweight) I needed a nice passiggiata to ease the beer buzz. Even though La Notte Bianca is mainly celebrated on the Oltrarno, we found that the historic center were copying the heart of Florence. Tables align the streets, people crowded piazza's(not as full as Santo Spirito) alas parties were popping everywhere. Stopping at i'Lorenzaccio for a quite glass of wine, so my friends could meet another friend of mine. The brotherly love is at full force now.
Crossing over the Arno once again, we strolled through packs of friends, family, and tourists, trying to make their way to the next Piazza. First stop was Santo Spirito. Munching on a hamburger, while we make our way through the crowd.

Heading back from Piazza del Carmine, there was a Bob Dylan sing-a-long

This man sang, "How does it feel, She belongs to me, and Under the Boardwalk" A change from singing in bars, we were singing in an internet cafe. All in all, I believe we could have sang all night with this unknown man.
All the things we could have eaten at any given time usually all kiosks had the same things, look here

OK well this is more of the desert cart, but you know what I mean.
Let's move on to San Giovanni, shall we...
I didn't have any big plan on celebrating San Giovanni ( the third time for me). I really was planning on sitting at home finishing and researching articles. I was asked by a new friend Claudio, who lives a hill over from me, to join him and his friends for a viewing of the fuochi d'artificio (fireworks). I brought my friend Melissa, who replaced me as a babysitter for V and the girls. The night was great and had front row seats to the spectacle.

OOOOOOOOOO

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

WOWEEEEEEEEEEE
The days are busy for me because the new website/business is taking a lot of energy out of me. I usually sit on the couch most of the afternoon and write a few lines of an article and then switch to my web design class 101.
I am still thinking HIGH hopes, like our friend the little old ant, thinking he can move that rubbertree plant. I think I can move mountains with my new idea. I will reveal momentarily. Maybe it will be today, non so!

a presto amici
